About Whitney Keyes

For over 20 years, Whitney Keyes has helped organizations around the world use proven business principles to bring about positive change. Her innovative ideas and easy-to-implement strategies are designed for individuals and organizations that need results – now. Her recent work for the U.S. Department of State was focused on empowering women in Malaysia through social entrepreneurship.

After pursuing a degree in Journalism and Communications, Whitney managed her family’s retail and wholesale businesses. Her passion for community activism and social entrepreneurship led her to a position with the local government’s economic development department. She helped revitalize the city’s neighborhoods and promote its business districts.

From there, Whitney moved on to work for Microsoft, where she advised senior executives including Bill Gates on media and marketing strategies. She helped manage many of the company’s global initiatives, including the launch of Office, an $8 billion dollar business, and the creation of Microsoft’s first Corporate Social Responsibility report.

Today, Whitney works as a business advisor, author and digital media personality. She co-produces and hosts WhitneyandWyatt.com, a TV-style talk show for women on the web. She’s author of the book, Media Tips for Small Businesses. She also writes a column and produces podcasts about business trends and innovative ideas for The Biz Bite Blog on the Seattle Post-Intelligencer’s website. Whitney lives in Seattle, Washington, located on the northwest coast of the U.S.A.
